Seven Holidays

All-Inclusive Top 7

All-inclusive packages can be the route to great value. In other cases, they are the money-no-object shortcut to untold extravagance. Selected here are the best of both worlds, although emphasising value for money. This isn’t just about cost: these resorts all have something special going for them that singles them out.

Sister resorts Athuruga and Thudufushi set high standards, with just about everything free all the time and no compromise on quality. Both smart and well-served, the first is more private, the second a bit livelier. Dhiggiri is all-inclusive down to water sports lessons and hire, and is popular either for kicking back or having a vigorous stay. Equally generous is Lily Beach, with lavish buffets and a full range of sports on offer, all immediately accessible on a spacious, unhurried island.

The most affordable quality all-inclusive is Maayafushi. It’s not stylish, but doesn’t need to be, with oodles of personality and an idyllic natural location.

At the other end of the spectrum, tiny Gangehi presents a unique experience where there is no need to sign for anything, not even the diving, and the feasting is legendary. At the very top, the considerable cost of Dhoni Mighili includes a luxury boat, with crew, butler, and champagne on board, and the freedom of Maldives to experience as you wish.
