Everyone comes on an all-inclusive package and the food is predictably Italian and excellent.

Mahureva is on the island of Gasfinolhu just 30 minutes up the east of the atoll from the airport by speedboat. There isn’t much to the interior of the thin island but it’s clean-swept look and lily-lined paths between the bungalows are pretty.

All the activity during the day happens on the main beach and the lounge bar that are located on either side of the jetty. As all the water sports are free and the day and night are filled with organised activities, everybody congregates in this area and quite clearly has a great time.

The beaches on the other, ocean, side of the island are quite small but fine nonetheless and perfect for getting away for some quiet time. The reef drop-off is too far away for snorkelling, and diving is not a particularly popular activity here.

The large lagoon is just perfect for things like aqua aerobics, swimming around and generally just enjoying your fellow guests in the pristine, turquoise waters.
